Personal pieces of work that mean a lot to me. Consider this my Movement Diary.

“Monster”

We are all so very different, you and I.  Different cultures.  Different upbringings.  Different lives that are inherently so vast in the human experience, that you’d think we’d be honoring and learning from our diverse backgrounds. Yet, we continue to choose to divide each other.  Hate each other.   Dehumanize one another, based on the simple fact that we aren’t the same or see eye to eye.  The moment you no longer understand me, will you demonize me?  Will you judge me without context?  Will you withdraw yourself, and see me as something less than human?  The impossible standards to which we hold each other are from our own perceived truths.  When do we stop finding all the reasons to hate each other…  and instead decide to lift each other up and treat one another as equals?  When will you look at someone SO completely opposite of you, and choose to care?  Choose to embrace?  Choose to love?

Let’s begin to look at ourselves in the mirror.

Let’s begin to practice empathy, share grace for those who need it, and seek mutual understanding with respect and compassion.

Let’s begin to truly reflect on the issue of the heart.

I hope that this resonates with you.  I hope that we, as a people, realize that we are all that we got.

Let’s begin to see each other as human.
